Intermountain Microgreens
Living microgreens grown locally for Flathead Valley kitchens and local home buyers.
“Sometimes you find your way back to the things you were meant to grow.”
Meet Mike
Mike's roots in growing started long before Intermountain Microgreens.
In 1996, he earned two horticulture certificates from Montana State University. Years later, while working as a builder of high-end homes in Jackson, Wyoming, the housing downturn brought that chapter of his career to an unexpected stop.
So Mike went back to something he already knew well: growing.
In 2010, he started a farm and began putting his horticulture background—and a pretty undeniable green thumb—to work. By 2014, he was experimenting with microgreens and learning firsthand how much care, timing, and attention goes into producing a consistently healthy crop.
Life eventually took him in other directions, but the interest never completely went away.
After settling in Whitefish, Mike found his way back to microgreens and realized there was an opportunity to provide something that was difficult to find locally: fresh, living microgreens grown right here in the Flathead Valley.
Today, Intermountain Microgreens combines Mike's horticulture background, years of hands-on growing experience, and genuine enjoyment of the process. Rather than delivering greens that were commercially cut days earlier, Mike specializes in living trays that continue growing until they're ready to be used—giving chefs a fresher product with a longer usable life and allowing them to harvest what they need, when they need it.
Microgreens also pack impressive flavor and nutritional value into a very small plant, making them an easy way to bring freshness, color, texture, and nutrition to a dish.
For Mike, though, it really comes back to something simple:
He enjoys growing things, he's good at it, and he likes providing a quality product to the restaurants and people in the community he calls home.
